Simple and Thames21 Big Wet Wipe Count

Upcoming Event

Help us gather crucial data on the wet wipes settling in the River Thames by getting down and dirty to count them!

Simple and Thames21 will be hosting two foreshore events close to Hammersmith in west London and inviting the general public to become citizen scientists for the day.

Every time it rains in London, the sewers overflow, meaning the wet wipes that people flush down the loo end up in the river. To assess the problem, we are asking members of the public to count and remove as many wet wipes as they can from the foreshore.

Please note: This event is only suitable for children aged 10 and over. All children between 10 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
